Nothing can be more satisfying than to witness a fifteen year old technical institution ushering into the digital age with its own website. It took three years before Falakata Polytechnic finds its own premises at the present location and from 2003 this polytechnic began its functioning from here. Being placed at a the outskirts of the Falakata Town, it faced internet connectivity problem even as late as in the year 2013. But now we can boast of good broadband connection along with wi-fi connection to different position of the main building. And a website launched at this time is just an icing on the cake! Falakata Polytechnic was the second polytechnic established in the district of Jalpaiguri before it was divided into two district. In the year of 2013, with the creation of the new district of Alipurduar, Falakata Polytechnic has become the only polytechnic in Alipurduar District. Now it caters the dreams of hundreds of youth of Alipurduar District aspiring to become a diploma engineer while studying in an institution in a convenient location. The polytechnic offers diploma courses in five branches of engineering keeping the demands of the industries in mind. Among others, it offers diploma course on Food Processing Technology , being one of the pioneers in offering such course in any polytechnic in West Bengal. In spite of all the achievements, there are always room for further development. We are yet to provide any hostel for the students. With the total students crossing five hundred, we need to expand our existing building in very near future. But as we have seen in the past, with the support from all quarters, we believe that we will be able to tide over all the hurdles and become a model of technical education among the polytechnics.
